Short answer: the Cayman Islands are generally considered a safe Caribbean destination, but no place is crime-free. Check the current U.S. State Department country page before you go, use normal precautions with valuables, and take the ocean, sun and hurricane season seriously; for most visitors those are bigger risks than crime.
