Updated November 1, 2026

A printable checklist for planning a trip to Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac or Little Cayman, from documents to the beach.
Documents
- Check your passport is valid for your whole stay; read the current entry rules on the official pages below before you book.
- Keep a copy of your return or onward ticket; entry officers can ask for it.
- Buy travel insurance that covers medical evacuation if you plan to dive.
Money and getting around
- The Cayman Islands dollar (KYD) is the local currency, and US dollars are widely accepted; check whether change is given in KYD.
- Driving is on the left. Decide early between a rental car, taxis and the public bus.
- Tell your bank you are travelling and check foreign transaction fees.
On the water
- Book popular trips such as Stingray City early in high season.
- Pack reef-safe habits: do not touch or stand on coral, and do not feed fish unless a guide tells you it is allowed.
- Learn the Marine Parks rules before you fish or collect anything.
Before you fly
- Check the hurricane season dates (June to November) and your airline’s change policy.
- Save the local emergency number (911) and your accommodation address offline.
